Multiplication Strategies – learn your tables without rote

I followed a fascinating thread on one of my teacher networks which revealed how even teachers experienced problems learning their tables when at school.  So many great ideas were shared, amongst them, here are some to use with your students struggling to learn their tables.  Not everyone learns by rote  so different methods are definitely welcome!
